Just a bunch of smiles

From between Christmas and January 20th or so.

First Christmas

Arthur's first Christmas arguably started the weekend of his Christening, when we got and decorated his first little tree.

The three of us then drove to Connecticut, where we spent Christmas day introducing Arthur to his mother's [HUGE] family.

He met his great grandparents, Thomas and Mary Jane

And he met his charming second cousin Charles Miller III, or Tragh (pronounced Trey).

Arthur Thomas Stuart: no longer a heathen

On December 13th, Arthur Thomas (Moore, so suck it, Aquinas) Stuart was welcomed into the Catholic Church and cleansed of original sin. Devon's brother, Colin and sister, Brenna were there as Godparents. And while we have lots of pictures of him from that day, our pictures of the ceremony are few in number...so those of you that had cameras, we'd appreciate getting copies of whatever you took.

Arthur and Grampa Stuart at home before the ceremony.

Our family at a brunch up the street.

The appropriately delicious and short lived cake.

Uncle Colin- a proud new Godfather.

Thanksgiving

Arthur's first Thanksgiving was a blast- it was also his first time meeting his cousin Jack, who is 6 weeks younger. Below is a picture of Jack and Arthur lying on brand new blankets given by their mutual Aunt Darcia, as well a a family picture.

We're sorry...

...that we've both been such bums about updating this blog, depriving friends, family and baby model scouts of pictures and videos of our little boy. It certainly hasn't been for lack of cute pictures. But in the almost 2 months since our last post, plenty has happened, Arthur-wise, and we'll be posting as much as we can in the next couple of days to catch up. And this time, we'll keep it up to date.

Arthur 8 weeks 2 days

Okay, this video might just be for the most ardent Arthur fans. Grandmothers and such. He is pretty much just being a baby. A happy baby. It is too long and poorly edited. But what mother could edit out a single squeal or smile? Enjoy, Grandma Tara

Arthur Auditions for American Idol

To tell you the truth, we really don't know which song Arthur was going for here. His interpretation is still pretty abstract. We've been getting a kick out of Arthur's new verbal skills. I'm thrilled August caught it on video so we can share it with all of you!

And he weighs in at a whopping...

9lbs 13oz! 36 days old and he gained over a pound in the last 10 days! August and I are proud of our little eater. These pictures were just taken last night. Note the chubbier face and hands!

More gorgeous pictures

Arthur does smile a lot these days. He is such a happy baby! Somehow his smiles keep evading my camera. Yes, these were taken in the bathroom. I find the best lighting there.

Arthur in action.

My guys

Hello family and friends!
Up until now, August has been the single, modest voice on this blog. Now I would like to share my perspective of the budding relationship between father and son. August is already a wonderful father.

Here is the moment after Arthur's first targeted micturition. Notice the urine spots on the bottom left.

August is already learning Arthur's language.

Neither boy is shaving these days.

But both enjoy a good knuckle suck.

Arthur makes a friend

On October 16th, Arthur had his first interaction with a peer. Henry Thomas Goodfellow, the adorable 9- week-old son of dear friends Megan and David Goodfellow came to visit.
It started out so well.

Then, Henry started to have his doubts about our little one...

...so he went in for a closer taste.

But Arthur wasn't feeling very tasty.

And Henry picked up on that.

So the moms decided social time was over.

Finally, an update

First, an apology- we haven't posted in like 10 days, as several of you have reminded us. Also, pretty much all of the pictures so far have been taken by then posted directly from an iphone, so there's only been one, cell-phoney picture at a time. This will change.

Arthur is doing very well. At 15 days old, he's been sleeping for around 5-6 hours a night. He's eating plenty and creating a lot of all the things babies are supposed to create. He's pretty much a delight in every way. See for yourselves.
